Due to popular demand, we are now running photography training courses. Whether a beginner or advanced amateur, we can tailor a course to suit your needs. We host our courses locally (South Manchester region) and on location (Fort Belan in North Wales). Participants will have the opportunity to take part in professional style photo shoots and have personal hands-on training on how to use the more sophisticated settings on their cameras to achieve creative results. In addition, we cover digital post-production, concentrating on how to process images for high quality results via Photoshop and other leading software.
Our training courses primarily specialise in photo shoots related to people photography and we therefore organise models for the demonstration shoots. Participants learn how to pose models, use natural light and off camera flash outdoors and studio flash indoors. We also demonstrate how to output images for high quality results. For those interested, we also run separate courses on landscape and travel photography.
In addition to having many years experience as a professional photographer, Ian is also an experienced photography lecturer, having taught on both ‘A’ level and BTEC level 3 courses, and recently achieving a teaching qualification.
MAKE MONEY!
For those interested in making money from their camera, we plan to organise additional sessions specific to the subject of Stock Photography. Having had 7 years past experience working a as Picture Editor and Photographer for one of the UK’s leading photo agencies, Ian has in-depth knowledge on how to shoot images that sell globally. Ian still enjoys the financial rewards of shooting for stock agencies, alongside his day-to-day commissioned work. Anyone with a digital SLR camera can learn to do this too and Ian will explain how to get started in one of the few commercial photographic environments that offer complete creative freedom. Ian has given lectures throughout the UK on the subject of Stock Photography and also publishes an on-going article in the Writers’ and Artists’ Yearbook (A&C Black), which is available to buy and can also be found in the reference section of most UK libraries.
