Ian has worked for many schools, colleges and universities on a diverse range of educational projects, from advertising campaigns to the production of high-quality annual prospectuses. This style of photography requires a great deal of organisation in order to stay efficient within the tight timetable of a typical day at a school or college. People skills are paramount, as in most cases real pupils, students and teachers are focused upon in their daily workplace and often can be uncomfortable in front of the camera. Ian believes, like with all people photography, clear communication and sensitivity is the key to creating relaxed and natural looking images.
One of Ian’s most recent projects was to produce the primary photography for the 2011 under and postgraduate prospectuses for the University of Bedfordshire. Both were created in liaison with GSD, a bespoke design company based in Nantwich, Cheshire. Other schools and colleges Ian has recently worked with include Cheadle and Marple Sixth Form College, Blackpool Sixth Form College, West Cheshire College, Hulme Hall School, Mid-Cheshire College and Brine Leas high school.
